After working in the voluntary sector for many years for organisations providing emotional support, I qualified as an Integrative Therapeutic Counsellor in 2011. My interests and experience includes depression, anger, anxiety, attachment, relationship issues, creative arts and experiential therapies working in local services and organisations, schools and the NHS in addition to private practice where I work both long and short term with a wide range of presenting issues and client groups.
As well as delivering training to qualified therapists and professionals I am a tutor for a Stage 4 BACP Accredited Counselling Diploma.
I have a special interest in working with couples and relationships, including those who face specific communication challenges where one or other of the couple is on the autistic spectrum.
With a keen interest to support the emotional well-being of children and young people, I have particular experience in working in and with schools providing therapeutic support to students, as well as working with their families and supporting school staff.
I am an approved counsellor with Barnardo’s Adoption Agency.
